Blueberries
Blueberries are a challenge to grow in our area because of our soil composition. Our soil is too alkaline for blueberries, they like it to be more acidic. (If your area grows lots of Rhododendrons or Asialia's then you have the perfect soil))
None the less, they are worth the effort, I tried for many years to get our blueberries to prosper, with no luck, until I started to add a small amount of flowers of sulfur. I know it is not the organic way but I just gave in, just for the blueberry plants.

A Good Sign
Even bumble bees help to pollinate our blueberry flowers, a sign that we will have berries.

Care
Blueberry plants like to be left alone, they do not like the soil around the roots to be disturbed.
Just add about 1 Tablespoon of Flowers of Sulfur around the plant each spring.
Variety's
Our favorite variety is Bluecrop, second choice would be Jersey, we grow them because of how the plant grows and the berries they produce and not on flavor or texture.
